BEGINNING MARCH 31, 2018, ELECTRONIC DAILY HUNT PERMITS ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO HUNTING MARION WILDLIFE AREA, CHECKOUT IS REQUIRED AFTER HUNTING IS COMPLETE REGARDLESS OF HUNT SUCCESS.

US Army Corp of Engineer managed land does not require an electronic permit.

  • An 800 acre REFUGE area is located along French Creek on the West side of the Reservoir. The refuge is CLOSED to all activities October 1 to March 1 and is closed to hunting except through the KDWPT Special Hunts Program.

Marion Wildlife Area is located along the western edge of the Flint Hills in the Cottonwood River Valley of central Kansas. Sitting in the Neosho Basin, the area consists of 3,700 acres of mixed native grass and riparian timber, 2,350 acres of cropland and 6,160 acres of Marion Reservoir.
