Melvern Wildlife Area

ELECTRONIC DAILY HUNT PERMITS ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO HUNTING MELVERN WILDLIFE AREA, CHECKOUT IS REQUIRED AFTER HUNTING IS COMPLETE REGARDLESS OF HUNT SUCCESS.  

US Army Corp of Engineer managed land does not require an electronic permit.

Hunting Areas:

  • Youth/Mentor Area - 270 acres, open to youth under 16 years of age and mentor can also hunt
  • Melvern Wildlife Area (10,100 Acres)
  • 3 Duck March 
  • Sundance Marsh
  • Willow Marsh
  • Refuge - Closed to all activities October 1 - January 15

Special Regulations:

The Youth/Mentor area is open to youth 15 and younger and a mentor at least 18 y.o.a. who may also hunt.

No camping is allowed on the wildlife area.

No off road vehicle or horse use is permitted anywhere on the wildlife area.
